In an effort to help homeowners plan for their kitchen remodel, sales manager Randall Omoto has come up with a series of tips and guidelines to consider as you begin to move forward with your project. Homeowners Design Center has also captured this advice in a series of videos called “How to Save Money on Your Kitchen Remodel”. The second video in the series is “Get the Most Out of Your Space”. These are extremely useful videos to watch if you’re going through your first kitchen remodel, or if it’s been 15-20 years since you’ve done your last one. Also, these are just some tips to consider as you plan your kitchen remodel. To help better plan your renovation, seek professional help for more in-depth advice. Homeowners Design Center is just a phone call away.
Omoto says that, “There are a lot of people that can help you with… (designing) your kitchen or bathroom (remodel). There are architects, there are general contractors, there are draftsman but these guys actually cost you money… I always tell people if you can, try to seek professional help, especially if it’s free.” There are design professionals who can help you with designing your kitchen remodel for free. Another reason why Omoto advises to seek professional help is to help you avoid “design traps”. Because professionals have the experience of having done numerous kitchen remodels over their career, they help you make clearer and better decisions and avoid the dreaded, “If I only knew this ahead of time.”
Omoto says that one of the great things about seeking professional help with your design is that they can help you save time and money by being able to show you the finished kitchen remodel with design software like 2020 Design. It helps to eliminate any unwanted surprises and show you what your kitchen will look like using real products. If you want to see how a specific brand and color of a cabinet will look like against real flooring and quartz countertops, this software will help you create it in 3D. It can show you how the entire design looks before actually purchasing it.
Lastly, Omoto says a professional, “Will be able to help you with things like design constraints… (and) with even what I call appliance constraints.” This is when appliances are banging into things, won’t open or close properly, like refrigerators that can’t open cause they’re stuck against a wall. A professional will help walk you through your kitchen remodel to make sure you’ll get what you want without any problems.
Be on the lookout for the final video of the series “Variable Costs”. Omoto will advise you on how to control costs on what you eventually decide to purchase, or not purchase, which could effect the outcome of your kitchen remodel.
